Vinyl Page Color Transfer
There was a discussion on Patch-l on the best sort of plastic pages
for the storage of embroidered emblems and other Scouting memorabilia.
One of the allegations made was that vinyl pages can sometime
lead to color transfer from the patches to the vinyl. While some
have never experienced this phenomena, I have. At the right are
a couple of sections from two vinyl pages which "sucked"
some of the color out of the patches that were in these pockets.
The graphic is a straight unaltered scan. It's pretty easy to
see the shape of the Council Shoulder patches from the "stain"
left in the vinyl.
I don't know if the problem is in the patches,
the air or if this was just a bad batch of PVC. I do know that
it was a major factor in my decision to switch to PE pages instead.
